We get several calls a week from leisure centers, swimming clubs and various water sport clubs asking how waterproof our Tyvek wristbands are. We know they are waterproof but we were also curious as to just how durable and waterproof they really are. We asked our resident ‘Water Baby’ to test one out during her regular swims.
Natalie wore one of our printed Tyvek ¾” wristbands for a total of 3 days. She swam for two of the days and kept the same wristband on for the day between swims. We know that Natalie always swims a mile and thought this would be a great opportunity to really put the bands through their paces.
After the first day Natalie said, “I genuinely forgot I was swimming with the wristband, it is very light, it didn’t cause any drag at all.” As we expected, the wristband remained in tact by the end of her swim.

All ready for a good swim/test.

Still intact and strong after over a mile in the water.
The test was supposed to end after this first day, but as the band was still in great condition after its first mile in the water, Natalie decided to keep it on until after her next swim.
The band wore well during the day between swims, enduring a busy day at work then an evening out. Natalie said, “The band hasn’t irritated my wrist in any way, I’m just not aware of it.” By the 3rd day we were eager to see how our Tyvek wristband would fare with its second mile in the water. We are very happy to report that it remained as strong as it was the day it first went on Natalie’s wrist. She even gave it a good tug to make sure.

All ready to go back into the water.

A little ruffled but it's still on. Is it still secure though?

Yes! Yes it is. After 3 days and a little over 2 miles of hard swimming.
Despite spending a significant amount of time in water, our test band was taken off the same way that all our wristbands have to be; it was cut off.
